MEET OUR TEAM
We believe every member of our church is, and should function as, a minister. Therefore we seek to have every person at Arise serving by exercising their specific gifts, and fulfilling their amazing privilege of being part of God’s royal priesthood.
Oversight and pastoral leadership in our church is given by a plurality of men who serve in the community as elders. Currently Arise has three elders who mutually submit to one another under the ultimate leadership of Jesus. Among the elders, Steve Ross currently serves the church vocationally as Lead Pastor. Alongside the elders in shepherding, we have a community of men and women who execute and guide the mission of Jesus through Arise.

STEVE ROSS
Meet our Lead Pastor, Steve Ross. Steve and his family are excited to continue on God’s work here in Ventura! Jamie and Steve have been married 22 years and have 5 daughters who keep their 3 sons tenderhearted. Steve loves discipleship and the global Church. From Arise he serves our Acts 29 network of churches as Diversity Director. He loves specialty coffee, low and slow barbecue, live music, and his wife's crazy sense of humor.
DAN CAROBINI
Dan is an attorney who grew up in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. He moved to California to attend Pepperdine Law School, fell in love with the west coast, and eventually settled in Ventura. Dan has been married to Julie for 33 years and they are the parents of a son and two daughters. Dan is a former AYSO coach and referee, and he is passionate about serving Jesus and His Church.
CARLOS VELASQUEZ
Carlos is a SoCal native who has ministered in California, Hawaii, and Oregon. Happily sanctified in marriage to Christine and father to four blessings. He has a heart for shepherding and loves the capital "C" church. He and his family moved to Ventura in summer of 2018 to be part of the new work God is doing, culminating in Arise Ventura. On any given day you can find Carlos doing what he does best… eating Mexican food!
